Domain age is a ranking factor

The Myth

"Older domains have an inherent ranking advantage over newer domains."

The Truth

Domain age itself is NOT a ranking factor. Google has confirmed this multiple times. The correlation people see is because older domains have had more time to build backlinks, content, and authority. A new domain with great content and links can outrank an older domain. What matters is what you've done with the domain, not how long you've had it.

Domain age doesn't help anything. We don't use registration length.

EXPERIMENT

Multiple Case Studies

New sites ranking for competitive terms within months disproves domain age as a factor.

Insight from @dejanseo

"I've launched new domains that outranked 20-year-old sites within months. Age means nothing if you're not building authority. Focus on what you do, not how old your domain is."
