The Myth
"Google uses Chrome browsing data as a ranking signal."
The Truth
Google has repeatedly denied using Chrome user data for search rankings. Privacy concerns aside, it would be legally problematic. Chrome does provide CrUX data (anonymized, aggregated Core Web Vitals) which feeds into page experience signals, but individual browsing behavior doesn't feed into rankings.
OFFICIAL
We don't use Chrome browsing data for search ranking.

Google Chrome Privacy Policy
Chrome data usage is separate from Search ranking.
DInsight from @dejanseo
"The Chrome conspiracy theory keeps coming back. Google has enough signals without spying on your browser. They don't need it and wouldn't risk the privacy backlash."
