BUSTED
Backlink quantity beats quality
The Myth
"More backlinks always mean better rankings, regardless of their source."
The Truth
Quality absolutely beats quantity for backlinks. A single link from a high-authority, relevant site can be worth more than thousands of low-quality links. In fact, many low-quality links can trigger spam filters or be completely ignored. Google's algorithms are sophisticated at evaluating link quality, relevance, and naturalness.
We look at quality of links, not just quantity.
Ahrefs Study
Domain rating of linking sites correlates more strongly with rankings than number of links.
Multiple SEO Tests
Sites with fewer but higher quality links outranking those with more but lower quality links.
